my love for nintendo > your love for socially innappropriate goods misapropriation

4 random cunts tried to nick my DS on the bus on monday

apart from a few bruises (and less a few locks of my rather gourgeous bouffant) i have escaped unscathed

for the next few weeks i think i shall chronicle my attempts to get the CCTV footage of the attach which (through the joys of the data protection act belongs to me). The police have told me that I won't get it, bollocks to that, its mine, its got me in it and I will get it. Upon getting the footage posters will go up and I'll put it up on youtube. Hopefully someone will recognise the people and we'll take it from there.

In other news support bands > main act

pigeon detectives were ok but the "OMGWTF gang of four" support band were superior

this post has been brought to you by the 700mb WoW patch

Reading! Woo

Got back from reading a few hours ago, had an absolutely kick ass time and discovered that drinking in the morning is always a good plan.

Best bands were Anti Flag, Flogging Molly (both times) and Reel Big Fish. Pearl Jam and Gogol Bordello also totally blew me away.

Have the best selection of mosh pit bruises, both my upper arms are covered in tiny and not so tiny bruises, the beer jacked helped massively with aqquiring them

FOR THE HORDE!!!

have just returned from dorchester beer festival of ultimate joy and ensuing invasion of portland

beer fest was great although it was a pain going straight from work so i was a bit late and some beers were out and more importantly it cut into valuable drinking time. overly enthusiast folk music was danced to over enthusiastically and many many glasses were "acquired". somehow i also managed to get free beer and free pork products so a success on all fronts.

b&b was great, proper breakfast with caffeine made us all feel slightly less worse for wear

drove to portland where we men did proper manly things like throwing big rocks into quarries and climbing things that were entirely unnecessary to climb, ramblers were laughed at and we watched mountain bikers wuss out

pictures from portland: http://www.flickr.com/photos/33411944@N00/sets/72057594059781161/

whoever made the M4 should consider removing fog, roadworks and closing the junction where i need to get on.

mostly the fog, seriously, whats the point in a road straight enough for me to do 90 on for the whole journey if i have to spend half the journey cowering behind a lorry on the reckoning that if anyone has stopped he'll just go through them. and radio 1 played nothing but the kaiser chiefs the whole freaking way

and on the beautiful twisty road from the motorway to bath there was an evil lorry who decided that 30 was the right speed to drive under the lovely starry skies. curse his black soul

did late opening today at work which was comedy, we stayed open for an hour longer than normal during which time NO-ONE came in our shop. score.

rawk is making it all better though

PC hardware sucks serious wang

i've learnt more about how new PC stuff works in the last 2 days since i started fiddling with PC's years ago. SATA is no longer a mystery to me, why windows doesn't understand it without serious poking is. memory timings are becoming clearer, i acutally know what some numbers mean. bios is no longer a feared mystical realm, its where you prod things in the hope of making them work. when a review of something refers to it as "for enthusiasts" you really should take note.

and finally

never skimp on a power supply

i currently have a huge pretty black £900 paperweight sitting in my room

Poo

What is it about porridge? It makes my poo a funny yellow colour and tastes the same after its been through my body!!! I also love sleeping with cats. Their warm fur tickles in inside of my thigh as i snuggle up close. But i find their bum holes a little bit tight and their mouth is full of sharp teeth so i don't stick it there either. Sometimes my mum likes to come and sleep in my bed too. She touches me and it makes me feel special. She lets me put my john-john in a warm, wet place. It feels sooooo nice. On the weekend my dad comes in and lets me watch whilst my mum and dad play games. They bounce around alot and my daddy calls it 'hide the sausage' although we dont use the walls ones from the fridge they are for eating not playing with. At least thats what my daddy says. My sister has gone to live with my uncle, because she got pregnant and now daddy is angry with her and my uncle. I don't know why he is angry. Sometimes he hits me when he is angry. he gets his truncheon out of his pocket and hits my bottom very hard. I think it will be a pretty baby too, although the boys at school say that it will be a spacka and that I'm a spacka too but I don't think thats nice.

as the man with the plan has demonstrated the cocktail party was fun, there was a distinct lack of eurovision though, it seemed to be replaced by actual proper conversations. this was scary, but good.

i am also a bad influence on people, its wicked

work got their revenge on me for being horrendously hungover on sunday by making me work every day this week, this is potentially a good thing as i'll be too tired to go out and spend money and i'm getting a shit ton of overtime

i have also joined the gym (or i've been joined up, haven't actually been in the building yet), apparently there is some survey i have to fill out about my physical activity and diet and then i get an induction. hopefully my quest to convice people that gravy is in face 3 of your five daily portions of fruit and veg will continue to be succesful (note, it has to be bisto).

bday fun and frolics

considering how little planning i (or anyone else) my bday was absolutely quality, i'm never organising anything ever again

cheers to everyone who came on the various nights and to everyone who didn't it was because i didn't call anyone because i'm crap

friday night was full on high quality mendip shenanigans, apparently it was a challenge to get a costume together but i thought everyone looked quality. from now on i will forever look at slash and wonder how he eats curry without getting it in his hair. babylons was excellent and some quality late night chats were had

saturday morning was less good apart from one of my housemate's dads (an ex policeman no less) finishing a story with "of course i was totally stoned at the time". either that or i misheard it because my brain wasn't working

the meat-fest that followed was **insert as yet unused and over the top word for good here**. more things should be bbq'd and there should be at least 84% more sitting in the sun. the quiet orange juice in the pub that was to follow played out slightly differently

for some reason it started with lagers and ended with downing cocktails points of note from the evening include:

matt explaining doggy style to dan (whose english lacks the complex collection of obscure sexual references that make up most of our conversations) as "when a girl gets on her hands and knees and says fuck me like a dog, woof woof

explaining dogging to dan

playing the evil 3 coin game with some new initiates and infuriating one of them sufficiently that he threatened to kill everyone at the table unless we told him how it worked

said fellow saying he'd rim anyone for £1800

jaffaring a pitcher of long island iced tea

kissing a guy for a double whiskey

being slightly worried when he did it without being offered bribes

caddies

smuggling miniatures into said sticky floored hell hole

i have no memory of caddies after the miniatures

ordering pizza and then getting kebab whilst waiting for the pizza

the dullest cabbie in the whole wide world

weed and photographing people whilst they were sleeping

sunday was another day of pain, maccy d's does not provide long term protection from hangovers or hunger

sunday evening was the arcade fire who are wicked cool and like an infinitely better version of the polyphonic spree. they had a big drum that one of the guys wore round his neck and hit with excessive amounts of vigor. there was also a cello or a double bass, no idea which. and absolutely no support band. and they have crap t-shirts. but good badges.

then it turns out they moved all the bus stops in bristol for the simple purpose of making me miss my bus when i really need to sleep

and that concludes the weekend of joy and pain

today was mostly characterized by my almost complete failure to fill out a personal developement review form. i hate answering questions like "asses your performance over the last year". i couldn't think of anything to write so i put "good". also i'm sure the question "what tasks in your current role would you like to stop doing?" is a test to see if you're taking the piss.

1. Who are you?
2. Are we friends?
3. When and how did we meet?
4. Have you ever had a crush on me?
5. Would you kiss me?
6. Give me a nickname and explain and it.
7. Describe me in 1 word.
8. What was your first impression?
9. Do you still think that way about me now?
10. What reminds you of me?
11. If you could give me anything what would it be?
12. How well do you know me?
13. When was the last time you saw me?
14. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?
15. Are you going to put this in your lj and see what I say about you?
16. If you woke up and I was in bed with you, what would be your first thought?
